I know Christmas is over, but...

Hello Lovelies,
I know Christmas is over, but I am still kind of in that spirit...
Maybe it is because we finally had snow and all looks so pretty,
and the tree is still up, so, you may have to deal with some Christmas photos for a while...
Maybe till the 15th  of January ;)

Here is a little Santa painting I made as decoration for the buffet.

Cute, right?

And here are just some inspirational photos from around the web, maybe for the next Christmas?
Enjoy;)

A pretty table with some logs.

Simple but beautiful;)

Love the wreath!

This one is great too, just use clay to make these.

Or make these out of clay too!

If you like the painting, come and check out my ETSY shop
and maybe you`ll find something more...
I wish you all a pretty start for 2015!
May the new year bring you everything you wish for!
Love & hugs
Lydia

How`s your weekend looked like?

Hello Lovelies,
so the holidays are over and here are some things we did the past days.
I made many presents from my kitchen.
Like this boozy hot chocolate

Just put everything in a cute little container,
add a pretty bow and you are done.

As easy as this heavy chocolate cake!

Oh my this was delicious, and easy to make, I will share this recipe on my other blog soon.

This here was the back lighting of our buffet.
Totally forgot to take some pictures as the food was on the sideboard;(

With a cute Santa painting;)
Here we have our living room after the feast;)

And I painted my studio!
Was fed up with the stripes.
Yay, excited how good this room already looks
and it is not finished yet!

This was my weekend!

DIY Domino painting

Hello Lovelies,
how`s your weekend looks like?
I am about to finish some more paintings and decorating the kitchen project.
Finished a painting for a client`s space
and made a DIY Domino canvas for you my Luvs;)

Just pick a rectangular shaped canvas and paint it black,
find the middle and tape it for the middle part of the "domino-stone"

Than use any kind of round object to crate the domino stone "eyes".
I simply used my sharpie container top.
And use your color of choice to fill them.
I used gold acrylic paint.

Let everything dry, maybe paint the edges gold too and put the whole thing on a shelf! ;)

I apologize for the blurry images, it obviously was too dark ;/
Promise to take some better pictures next time I am visiting!

There you have it, a simple and pretty decoration object;)

8 Ingenious Ideas for Kitchen Storage!

Hello Lovelies,

Some nice storage ideas!

I think you will like em too;) Happy reading!

8 Ingenious Ideas for Kitchen Storage
By Jane Blanchard

Whether your idea of cooking is “A Man, a Can, a Microwave: 50 Tasty Meals You Can Nuke in No Time” or “Mastering the Art of French Cooking,” everyone deserves a kitchen properly pigeonholed and smartly straightened. As my dear grandmother used to say, “A place for everything and everything in its place.”

In-Counter Knife Slots

SOURCE: Zillow Digs

Always accessible, easily cleaned, space saving – what’s not to love about in-counter knife storage? A set can be expanded by drilling new slots or shrunk by spackling and painting the countertop. This technique works best on wooden countertops. Attempts on granite will be laughable.

CLEVER ALTERNATIVE: Mount two magnetic bars on the backsplash as another utensil holder.

Slide-Out Pantry Shelf

SOURCE: Zillow Digs

Most canned and jarred items – tuna fish, peanut butter, seasonings, baking goods – fit inside a 3.5-inch shelf. A slide-out shelf of that size can fit between the refrigerator and wall!

INGENIOUS ALTERNATIVE: Store spices and seasonings in a repurposed shower rack.

Utensil Drawer

SOURCE: Zillow Digs

Utensils, string and teenagers are all the same: They can’t help but get tangled together. Small cubbies keep forks and spoons from making sporks and otherwise creating clutter.

Pot and Pan Hooks

SOURCE: Zillow Digs

Clank. Clankety-clank. No one likes mining the lower kitchen drawers for pots and pans. Why not string them up? Pot hooks can be installed over an island, like a chandelier, or inside a large drawer. Lid racks can be placed anywhere an open wall presents itself.

WORTHWHILE OPTION: Pots can be hung on hooks like Russian nesting dolls, similar to clothes on hangers, further saving space.

Sliding Cutting Board

SOURCE: Zillow Digs

A popular storage solution in Tiny Homes, guest houses and hunting cabins, integrating a sink and cutting board protects valuable counter space. Plus, there’s hardly any mess to clean up afterwards.

SMART SINK SOLUTION: Install a strong dowel rod underneath the kitchen sink to hang cleaning spray bottles on.

Built-In Drying Rack

SOURCE: Zillow Digs

Most dish drying racks are uglier than sin. A built-in drying rack, be it stained wood or stainless steel, preserves the aesthetics of a well-done kitchen.

Cabinet Food Storage

SOURCE: Zillow Digs

In many kitchens, potatoes are homeless. Give potatoes, onions and other unrefrigerated vegetables their own dark, cool place, which prevents light degradation and captures odors.

FOOD TIP: Store flour in sealed containers to prevent oxidation and moisture loss.

Wine Wall of Fame

SOURCE: Wikipedia

Not everyone can donate the basement as a wine cellar. The wine Wall of Fame will do just as well. A polished rack can be built in an afternoon and installed anywhere, even in a narrow entryway.

Kitchen progress in the new space.

Hello Lovelies,
here is the before, to remind you how it looked like!
The kitchen of ma clients, of course.
It was an library before, but they decided to get a kitchen instead.
So we were at IKEA an brought back a really pretty one.
This was in june!
And now it is nearly done.
You may wonder what took us so long?
Oh well, IKEA!
At first they delivered the wrong doors, than we waited for ages for the right handles and knobs!
After I spent several hours on the phone to get things right, they shipped the handles but they were the wrong color!
The counter didn`t fit!
So we needed to return it too!
I could complain and explain the whole day.
But in the end here we have a gorgeous almost finished kitchen!

Here are the before pix!

We`ve got some pretty lights!
All of the handles have the right color,
the electrical equipment is build in.
All we need to do is put up some shelves, maybe put some moulding to the ceiling
and of course, decorate!!! ;)

This place need a pretty moroccan rug!;)
Today`s task is to put the shelves on to the wall and clean up a little.
And on sunday we trim the walls and get all the electrical stuff to work.
So, what do you think?
Love to hear from you!
